After taking the Certificate of Teacher years ago, I decided to finally take the LET Exam. Like others, I was was of those who were so scared because I don't want to fail this exam. But the time finally arrived for me to take it. So I bought books and did my own self review. I said to myself that I really want to become a teacher and if I want to pursue my teaching career, this is a must!
Licensure Exam For Teachers (LET) is an examination that needs to be passed by teachers in the Philippines so they can step up with their careers and be referred as licensed teachers. Passing LET is never that easy. It needs double the hard work and perseverance that you did when you are still a student. So for those who would like to apply for LET, here and the steps and things you need to secure beforehand.
Requirements:
A. Application Form from PRC from their website www.prc-online.com . Please make sure you also have a print out.
B. Transcript of Records (Original and Photocopy). You need your transcript of records with a note "FOR BOARD EXAMINATION PURPOSES ONLY".
Since I took Certificate of Teaching, PRC even asked for my TOR from my undergrad school. Make sure you have both!
C. NSO certified Birth Certificate (Original and Photocopy)
For married female, NSO certified Marriage Contract (Original and Photocopy)
D. Passport size picture with white background and name tag (4 copies)
E. Community Tax Certificate (Cedula) and Documentary Stamps. Please get it inside PRC and not elsewhere.
F. Valid Identification Card
Once you have the Cedule and the Documentary stamps sorted, here are the steps on how to apply for your exam:
Step 1:
Make sure you have secured the designated application form (elementary or secondary) coming from the PRC Online Service. Completely fill it out without leaving empty spaces since every information here is recorded.
I went to the 4th floor and first gave my passport size picture and went back on the queue on the stairs. The queue can be very long so make sure you stack up with lots of patience!
Step 2:
While I was on the line, this gentleman said that we could do everything on the 3rd Floor of the PRC building. That was a relief since the line wasn't moving.
Submit all the requirements mentioned above together with your application form to the ASSESSMENT WINDOW. Here, they will check that you all have the necessary requirements. So please make sure you double checked everything!
Step 3:
You will need to fill up a form and then you will proceed to the SCANNING and PROCESSING SECTION . This is basically right next to the Assessment Window. It was quite organized but there's just really a lot of people. Once you are done with the assessment, you are basically on your way to the Issuance.
It will take some time as they will need to encode your information in the system. Wait patiently and talk to other applicants to avoid boredom.
Step 4:
Pay the assigned examination fees at the cashier. Secure the official receipt, you might be needing it later on.
· For Baccalaureate Degree – P900.00
· For Non-Baccalaureate Degree – P600.00
· For Removal - P450.00
Step 5:
Issuance Window will be your next destination. You will get your schedule and other important information during your examination period.
Step 6:
Secure the NOA and the official receipt issued upon your payment. You will be needing it on the 1st day of your examination.
For approved application, secure the following:
Permanent Examination and Registration Record Card (PERRC)
Notice of Admission (NOA)
Notice: Applications will not be accepted after the set deadline.
Applying is very easy. You just need to be patient as the process is pretty much organized. Be early too!
